3% is the starting point. The per-merchant fee is stored as integer basis points so it never accidentally lands as a fractional cent.

Once accepted, every transaction going forward uses the new fee.

How the fee is charged

Lettuce retains its application fee through Stripe Connect's application_fee_amount on each PaymentIntent. Customer payment, your proceeds, Stripe processing fees, and the Lettuce platform fee are kept distinct.
